Information for Students

Each year over 200.000 foreign students  are enrolled at German universities. In winter semester 2009/10 more than 13.000 students from abroad have been registered in Munich alone.

To make the first steps for international students in Munich and at LMU easier, we have prepared some links, where you can find further information on application requirements and enrollment procedure. Furthermore you can also find useful information on topics as "Accommodation", "Language Courses" and "Social Life". If you have any questions, please contact the International Office.

 

Studying in Munich

In giving support and advice in social, economic and cultural matters, the "Studentenwerk München" (Munich Student Union) is another possibility to get useful information.

Visa regulation

Contact present exchange students

If you are interested to contact present exchange students, who are students at LMU or other local universities, there is the possibility to visit the Facebook forum of MESA.

MESA is the "Munich Erasmus Student Association" and was founded by former Erasmus students. There goal is to assist foreign student coming to Munich to get familiar with the city and the university. More information on MESA you will find on website of the organisation.

Intercultural counseling

The intercultural counseling office provides information about culture-related issues for studies and offers support with problems that students experience in their daily life. Furthermore the office organises different workshops where the participants have the possibility to exchange their experiences. Furthermore the workshops intend to spark the interest of the participants for intercultural question and give the impulse to acquire intercultural competence.
